A custom mascot costume gives a small business a recognisable face at trade shows, events, shops and promotions. This guide explains how a mascot can help your brand, the customisation options, materials, lead time, price and how to get a free quote from SPOTSOUND.CO.UK.
Why a custom mascot can help a small business stand out
A mascot is a living logo. At trade shows, product launches and in-store promotions, a costumed character attracts attention. A mascot made in your colours and with your logo carries your identity, so people remember who you are.
How a mascot can benefit your small business
Branding
Companies and brands use a mascot as a living logo that represents their colours and message wherever they appear.
Events
Companies, associations and event organisers use a mascot to give a group a friendly, recognisable face, and to make a stand or a campaign easy to remember.
Shops and promotions
Shops and shopping centres use a costumed character in-store to promote products and attract visitors.
Customisation options for small budgets
Start with a catalogue model: you can customise a ready-made model on its product page with your colours, logo or text, and select accessories. A project built from scratch from a logo, a sketch or an idea is more likely to be priced higher than a catalogue model.
- Colours of the costume
- Logo or text
- Flocking and embroidery
- Accessories such as a cooling vest, a fan, a balaclava, extra gloves or a bag
- Optional 2D sketch, approved before production
Materials and durability: what to expect
A mascot is built on a high-density foam structure that keeps the shape of the head and body. Depending on the model, the exterior and interior finishes use durable and breathable fabrics, plush, felt or textile trims. A complete costume weighs about 6 kg, distributed evenly for stability. Regular breaks are recommended, especially during long events or in hot weather. Read our mascot costume materials and wearer safety guide.
Lead time and delivery: how long does it take?
Production takes about 10 working days after the design is approved and the order is paid. The team gives you an estimated delivery timeline with your quote, before any order is placed. For a fixed-date event, contact the team before ordering so the timing can be confirmed together. The Fast Delivery option produces the costume in 24 hours. In the UK, delivery is by Chronopost or Parcelforce for £50 per mascot, about 5 working days, with tracking.
Price
For most models, a custom mascot costume costs £489 to £589 excluding VAT. Large or complex designs can reach £1,279 excluding VAT. Options and accessories are priced in your quote. If you need more than one costume, say so in your quote request so the quote covers the full order.
