There are seven places to put your logo on a mascot costume, and each one suits a different size. Vector artwork (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF) gives the best finish; a large PNG is an acceptable fallback. We settle the placement and size in the quote, well ahead of production.

Artwork files we can work from

  • Vector artwork (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF) is first choice, because the lines stay crisp whatever the scale.
  • If that is not available, supply a PNG or JPG that is at least 1,000 pixels wide, in focus and showing the entire logo.
  • Quote your colours as HEX, RGB or Pantone references where you hold them. Without them, we take the shades from the file you send.

Logo positions, one by one

The numbered markers in the picture follow the list underneath.
  1. Head or hat: easy to spot across a campus lawn or a charity fun run, and best kept simple.
  2. Shoulders (two logos): visible side-on, and in group shots at the touchline or on graduation day.
  3. Front: reads well when the mascot is photographed head on. Available in a small or large format.
  4. Back: useful when the mascot walks ahead of a crowd or leads a procession. Available in a small or large format.
  5. Knees (two logos): an understated touch that backs up the principal logo.

Adding a name or slogan

The product page treats logo and wording as separate options. A club name, a charity strapline or a society motto can go on the head, the front or the back, in addition to the logo.

Getting a tidy result on fabric

  • Logos with a handful of colours and chunky shapes stay legible from a distance, for example across a sports hall.
  • Tiny lettering and very thin lines are lost on cloth. Our sketch marks where this happens, so you can agree changes first.
  • Do not place a logo on a patch of fabric that is nearly its own colour; strong contrast keeps it clear.

Common queries from clubs and charities

Can a costume carry more than one logo?

It can. Each position is chosen individually on the product page, and the quote should list every one you want.

We have only a small, fuzzy version of our crest. What now?

Send it regardless. We will tell you whether it is workable or what we need instead, and a simple logo can be redrawn by our team.

Can a student union or society start from an idea instead of a logo?

Yes. Mascots are made from a logo, an idea, a sketch or photos, so say what you have in the quote request.

Is there any chance to review the design before it is made?

Yes. A 2D sketch is available as an option, and manufacturing begins only after you have validated it.

How long until we hear back?

Within 24 h. The quote includes an estimated lead time so you can plan around your event.
